1. Mahindra XUV300 | GNCAP Rating 5 :

Checked back in 2018 by Mahindra’s MPV, with first-in-segment disc brakes on all 4 wheels, stay in control and cruise with confidence. It scored four stars for adult protection (12.85 out of 17) and two stars for child occupant protection (scoring 22.22 out of 49). This continues to be Global NCAP’s top valued four-star car, which is currently on sale in India. The list of safety devices includes:

2.Polo of Volkswagen | GNCAP 4 :

Checked back in 2014, Volkswagen Polo scored four adult protection stars (scoring 12.54 out of 17) and three child occupant protection stars (scoring 29.91 out of 49). While the Polo is the second car on the list with a safety rating of four stars, in terms of child occupant defense, it scored better compared to the Marazzo’s test results. With relation to safety, the test model only comes with driver and passenger frontal airbags.

Beside Tata and Mahindra, Volkswagen is among few which could enter the list of Top 7 Safest Cars in the Indian market approved by the GNCAP.

3.Tata Tiago/Tigor | GNCAP 4 :

The third position on safe cars in India with four star safety rating is shared by the Tiago and the Tigor. Tested recently, both the cars have scored four stars rating for adult protection (scoring 12.52 out of 17) and three stars for child occupant protection (scoring 34.15 out of 49). The hatchback and compact sedan siblings get standard safety equipment such as;

  • Driver seatbelt pretensioners
  • Driver and passenger frontal airbags, SBR, and four-channel ABS.

Tata Tiago is both affordable and Safe hatchback for Indians and Tigor compact is also one of the safest car in India.

4.Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza | GNCAP 4 :

Suzuki has been always criticized for relatively limited features in its cars, to counter this it focused on evolving its safety standards, continuously. Tested back in 2018, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza had scored four stars rating for adult protection (scoring 12.51 out of 17) and two stars for child occupant protection (scoring 17.93 out of 49) and their 2020 car is even more safe. The safety equipment list includes;

  • Driver and passenger frontal airbags
  • SBR, ISOFIX anchorages, and four-channel ABS.

Although, Suzuki has been in the question recently for different safety standards for different countries.
